Article Writing
My basketball-based articles come in many different forms.
I write breaking news pieces, opinion pieces, list pieces, informational pieces, and game recaps.
I've written for Shutter Sports Media’s weekly newsletter, and TMU's newsletter, "The Eye Opener".
I ensure to let my personality shine through in my writing, despite the limited means of expression that can come through words on a screen.
Information and entertainment are the two biggest factors for me when it comes to my writing: can I help the reader learn whilst keeping them entertained? This comes down to having interesting information, and letting my personality shine through in my writing.
With my articles, I believe I'm able to accomplish those things.

WHY I WRITE
Although my main skills are on-camera, I believe that the toxic nature of the sport media industry is visible in writing as well. With my strong writing skills., I feel as if I should be spreading positivity in the sports community through articles as well as my on-camera content.
With my articles, I solve the problem of providing entertainment and information. I both interest the viewer with important facts, and entertain them with my personality!

THE PREP WORK
Every good article needs to be prepared--I make sure I have an idea of the story I want to tell and the direction I want to take my articles before I type a single word.
Especially with game recaps, it's important to know everything that happened within a game in case it needs to be referenced later in a story.
Seen here are some notes taken for a game recap I wrote on a TMU women's volleyball game: you can see how I highlight every important play, and momentum changers.
